The character should be larger, you should break up all the text better, and improve the music.
A friend just died, and you need to investigate the people and area around Talem’s Glade to find out why.
Mouse or touch only (this needs to be smartphone compatible). More in-depth instructions are in the game.
There are 3 different endings. If you get a credit screen with music, you found the best one.
This is a short prologue with a new HTML5 game engine. The “first chapter” in this series (which will be longer) is going to take awhile (probably not until 2015).
The tiles are a bit choppy in IE and FF, but this has been tested on Newgrounds with the latest versions of IE/Chrome/FF.
FIXED BUG 20150726 -
The enchant.js engine had a sound-related bug pop up sometime between now and when this game was originally published. I had to disable part of that engine. The sounds overlap now, but that's better than crashing the whole game.

It took a bit but I got the best ending. Can't wait for the next chapter. :)
I did have a few problems with this game. You have a place for instructions but you don't say anything in regards to the clues and evaluation buttons. I don't know if this was intentional but after clicking the evaluation button multiple times... just learning what is what.. (and frankly I like to press buttons) - it would skip to the end before I was ready.
Thankfully - I had saved just previous to that happening... and it happened more than once. It seems the ending was premature. I hadn't done everything I wanted to before it ended... I did finally get the best ending after having to reload a couple times from my save point, trying to avoid a premature bad ending again, which I'm still not clear about...
Annnnnyway... Long story short... (Enough with the long stories! lol) It was a pretty good game. Lots of reading but that's the type of game it is. It could have been smoother. I see that you plan to possibly add more games. that might be nice, with more than one mystery to solve, more places to visit, etc.
I've said it about a lot of games, I'm going to say it about yours as well, this game has potential. It needs a few tweaks here and there to make it better. I'll give you a 3.5.
You can earn a much higher review though, in future games, if you can be a little more clear, concise and make things run a bit smoother. More places, story, choices, perhaps even collecting items or something like that. I think there should be a button that you press if you are ready to proceed to the ending. Like, if you think you have all the clues you can possibly get.... I don't know.
Lastly, the music was... interesting. In some spots it cut out very abruptly. The art was not bad, I'd like to see more of it. The ambient sounds were good.
Thanks for the game!
I thought it was a good idea, but poor execution. The music gets really repetitive, the controls and menu navigation are clunky, and I missed all the story because the skip button is way too prominent.
