MaxPayne: The Sudden Stop

Gee whillickers, my first flash submission--feels good! Wait, no, thats the heroin kicking in. I needed some industrial-strength painkilling after trying (and failing) to get more than two buttons to work, so appreciate the ones you got there.

I had the good luck to play through the series with Max Payne growling depressing monologues in one ear and Sirundead growling only slightly more over-the-top depressing monologues in the other. The effect was hilarious but probably scarred me for life.
After the months spent laughing and crying hysterically in a mental institution I doodled up this fruity little number: http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/paxilon/payne-to-de-max?context=ratings:etm.user:2812284.scouted:.offset:33

And now that I've drawn out the joke to an excrucuating degree I can die knowing that everything has come full circle. Really full circle, because the first thing that put Sirundead on my scope was, in fact, this
OTHER fruity little number animated beautifully by Haitam: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/601732
So it's nice to know that my life will have a decent sense of closure.

Thanks to DanishDragon and Hellwreckage for their fantastic music! Both these guys need more gooey love, so go do that.

And if anyone ever wants the solid minute I have of Sirundead shreiking "PUPPIES!" for beatbox or blackmail purposes, PM me.

I'm kidding, of course.
They're all mine.

Dont forget to look for a terrible easter egg! That you wont be able to unsee!

Edit: to any flash veterans (or anybody who isnt, unlike myself, a hyperidiot)-- my biggest problemnis coding. I just moved and my internet isnt set up, and for the duration of this project I've had to use my phone to look up tutorials (and submit this thing, too). I'd like main menu music but cant figure out how to stop it upon playing either movie clip. Help?

I hadn't logged on Newgrounds for a long time, and never realized that you used my track. This is too good, a way better example of using that loop than I could have thought up hahaha. Thanks :)

As a person who enjoys these sort of things, I'm pleased to admit that I enjoyed this specific thing.

For a first cartoon, this ain't half bad.

The animation is a little stiff, but it's forgivable as a first, and as as first actual animation, it's pretty damn good in comparison to most, so props on the animation, man. And as for the colour palette, I was going to make a criticism on the colour choice, but it actually fits the theme pretty damn well for the source material and works really well with thestiff animation.

The voice acting by SirUndead was pretty great and easily the best choice for the voice of Max Payne. I think I'm gonna PM you for those lines, by the way....

As for the joke, (the thing that drives a parody) I didn't find it all that funny. It felt long, drawn-out and not all that creative. But, I could tell you had a blast animating this and having SirUndead talking to you while playing Max Payne.

Overall, good animation with a bland punchline.

i absolutly LOVED this animation and for it to be your first one, it's brilliant. You should be proud of this and i can't wait to see more from you in the future :)
xx

Wow, your first movie, what a dangerous thing! Hope you get the help you need (lol) on programming :)

Paxilon responds:

"I wondered if Vic knew the kind of help I would really need for programming. It came in a one-size-fits-all calibre-- a .45, right between my eyes."

I think if I weren't so tired I would be more worried about first impressions, but--
wait...
NOPE, STILL PRETTY NERVOUS HA HA HA
Thanks!
