Practicing the SFM:Basics

Share Collapse

I finished my first project with SFM, it's not a flash animation, but regardless I love this site and would like to offer what I can to you lovely gents. It's not spectacular but I think it's alright, and I would not have even come to this point if it wasn't for the motivation I get from seeing all the talent on this site.

All models and material were from Valve except the tears, which were from here: http://thehobocouncil.deviantart.com/art/Tears-448319275

The voices and shitty music were by me.

I like it

I Liked It, The Movement Seemed Pretty Fluid. (Except For The Arm Which You Have Already Heard About). I Wouldn't Mind Seeing Some More Of You're Work In The Future. :)

McPhearson responds:

Thank you, I explained the arm thing a little in post below yours if it helps at all to understand my reasoning.

This is not too bad from practice. Aside from not making his left arm move very much, you seemed to do everything else fine. Nice to see you turned practicing in SFM into a little comedy short, always nice for motivating I think.

McPhearson responds:

Thank you, I kept trying different things with the arm, but having it stay locked seemed like the best way to look like him/me didn't know what we were doing. I thought about having both arms locked behind him, it looked pretty funny, but I thought it was more amusing to have only one arm he somehow doesn't know how to operate. Also, I wanted to make sure that when he went into full sprint it would seem more extreme than his previous running buildup.

this seems pretty interesting...it wasn't bad...but the way you fumbled over the guy who didn't like the plot was not the way to go about that...because everything here was pretty good and the voices were good too...but you really shouldn't try to defend anything....but instead make it better...and that doesn't mean promising a better plot...it means instead think of ways to reach that point were you and the person who thinks something was lacking are both satisfied...

still i hope to see more of your work...its solid....no issues or inconsistencies that are noticeable to me....the voices are fine and the jokes were not that bad....

McPhearson responds:

Thank you.

funny making fun of yourself. cool 1st project!
