This movie had a very artsy vibe to it and I liked that, but I feel I'm misunderstanding the plot or message you're trying to convey. The setting seems nice and dark... and then we have two guys playing chess and one guy keeps daydreaming while the other thinks of his move? Then they both die and continue to have some fun? So after all of that I don't see what the title of "Fears" and the message at the end about fears and ego have to do with the rest of the movie.

Sound: The music while everyone was dead seemed nice and appropriate for the semi-absurd scene of dancing skeletons. I was instantly reminded of the Calaca skeletons associated with Dia de los Muertos. And the background birds during the alive segment was well picked for making everything seem peaceful. But the other sound effects while everyone was still alive were often jarring and seemed out of place (1. the person doing the laughter for one of the old guys after a good move sounded much younger than them; 2. the sound for one of the thought bubbles appearing sounded like one of those old transitions from powerpoint that everyone learns is overused; 3. When the daydream people are bouncing balls around, some of the ball bounce effects were mistimed so that they happened before the guy hit the ball).

JulianBlau responds:

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. It is much appreciated as I am new to animation. I am aware of the things you mentioned, but as this is a project for university I've been restrained by the time and it was my first time when I've done sound editing. Again, thanks a lot.

looked like he got his idea from the beginning of that Disney movie.
