The hit detection for the enemies were better on this game than the newer game. The levels were alright as well. Same concept, but with out the addition of getting a high score and medals, the replay value isn't quite there. Fun game, but you definitely made a lot of improvements with the sequel.

This game was made in Flash; Ruffle emulation may not be able to run the game without glitches.
with some difficulty, i managed to complete this game.
while i enjoy the mario sound effects, the music, and background and such, i would like to see originality implemented. it is nice to draw from it, though i would say go for something more you, if i have worded that correctly.
the enemies are not exactly the most menacing, though i find it good you leave text up there to know to watch for them. i do not quite understand why spike dies as he kills you.
the controls worked well enough for me, and the walljump was a nice addition. for what it is worth, i enjoyed playing through this game. cheers!
The controls are really bad, making the game quite frustrating.
To anyone who will complain about the game, I dare you to try and finish it. It is quite difficult in some parts. Also, there are no game breaking glitches and the controls are explained (there are a number of games that get to the game portal that don't even have these qualities so this deserves to make it). He also credited the music source, which is great.
