ABOUT THE GAME

D2D: Deep into Darkness is my first game. It was developed in 72 hours as an entry to a local Gamejam in Fortaleza, Brazil. The theme was: "You have to cheat to win the game".

This game is a nice game but....TOO DAMN CREEPY MAN TOO DAMN CREEPY!
idk why,it not just the music...i was on my headphone and when i hear the music i took it off,so its not about the music....anyway...i do think i know how to do some medals...so i make it darker...but its even more creepy to play with...Q_Q
Anyway,good job and good game.

Amazing game, very good music but its kinda creepy.

Also,

BR BR BR BR? HUEHUEHUEHUE

i can get to the dark room easily. but from there i'm lost. i can't figure out how to "cheat".. i saw someone saying about changing the lumosity to get through that room? how do you do that??? this is really going to bother me if i can't finish it so please explain it to me xD

That was... unnerving. So...

+ I spent some time playing this game just to explore it as deeply as I could. Unlocking the "Killer Curiosity" achievement after I had finished the game was pleasant, and I would have done it even without the medal.
+ If you wanted to make it creepy, morbid, and unnerving, well, you succeeded. The sound work is nearly perfect.
+ The "cheat" system is well-thought (but it should have been named otherwise, I'll come back to it).

- The character is too slow. I know that it serves the "mood", but it still might have been a bit faster.
- creepy-music-creepy-mood-sounds-ACHIEVEMENTUNLOCKED!!!-music-music-creepy-stuff-YOUCAN'TPUSHTHISBUTTON!!!-creepy-music. Yeah, I nearly sh*t myself several times because of the volume imbalance.
- Is this really "cheating" ? Adjusting the luminosity is not technically cheating, because the game offers the possibility, right ? It may be something like "thinking outside the box", but not "cheating". Regarding the last "cheat", the one enabling us to leave, I didn't get it. I feel like I just jumped everywhere out of increasing boredness and incomprehension and BAM, all of a sudden, I win.

A very good surprise overall, I put 4 stars to the game, hoping it will give it a bit more light and bring some more curious players. Will you do a remake of this game ? It could become really incredible.

andreycout responds:

Wow, thanks for the review. I can't express how much I appreciate this sort of detailed feedback.

Regarding the volume imbalance, I'm sorry about that. I'm still not that experienced when it comes to audio editing.

The "cheating" term and theme was mostly used because of the Game Jam's theme.

About remaking the game... I'm not sure. I'm probably better off moving on to other projects. I want to experiment other things, and even if I remake this, I don't think it has potential of becoming "a hit" (but thanks for the compliments)

Once again, thanks for the feedback! :)

That was so sad D=
