nice game liked the ambience and the style it has a few bugs and the stamina upgrade and health upgrade sould be total health/stam points instead for viability when you expand on the game. other then that great game alot of potential
1st off, the good:
-you had a really nice ambience going with the soundtrack (even if it WAS only one soundtract)
-you had a very nice combat system in place
-you had a (somewhat) interesting story
-your graphics was passable, not the greatest, but they did there job well
however:
-your block was next to useless, as the melee units could hit through it, and the ranged ones still did damage, resulting in the only way of not taking damage is hit and running them except for the ranged guys, where I would have to rush in and hack away as quickly as possible.
block being useless, made said upgrade for block useless as well.
-your 'teleport to next area' spots were a bit glitchy (or at least with speed upgrade they seemed to be) where they would not always trigger, forcing me to run back over the spot a 2nd time, just for it to trigger. in the 2nd to last area, this in fact led me to walk OFF the platform, and into no where land where I eventually had to reset the whole game (which btw, next time, surround ALL walkable areas with instant death tiles... this forces people that do manage to glitch out of the area, a way to kill themselves and start over)
-typos. seriously, you should re-read over your dialogue, unless you aren't a native english speaker. in that case, most people will let others know somewhere, so your not wondering why everything seems poorly typed out.
-the chat the demon says near the end, is red on black... and auto goes forward a -little- to fast. if your going to do something like that, at least make it hit a key to continue, not all people read the same speed!
-and that brings me to my next point... trust me on this when I say: you do no one any favor's when you make the 'bad guy' tell you how to survive. you made it obvious enough how to continue, you didn't even need to do that, but even when you do, don't make the bad guy be the one to tell you, it really breaks the mood of a bad guy being... well... bad.
-all upgrades not possible in single playthrough without dieing, which leads me to the major point of, your points don't reset to what you started with when you die, meaning you could farm an area to get every upgrade from the 1st area if you really wanted to.
-the stamina system is nice, and does it's job well, but comes back fast enough that you never need to use stamina potions. perhaps in your next game, make it come back not quite as fast?
-your enemies are completely unaffected by things that instakill you... it just seemed you being lazy as they glitched through torches and weak ice patches.
overall though, it really wasn't that bad, defenitely worth the 3 stars, but the multitude of issues defenitely keeps it from being worth much more then that.
The overall game play is good, and the graphics give it a feel of an older platforming game. Only a few things. You have "the how to play" thing on the main menu, and also when you first start the game, there is no point in having two of them especially when you can take it out in the middle of the game to remember what button to push to get health back or stamina. Which brings me to another point, the stamina seems to get low too much, and when it does, you have a chance of dying an unreasonable and unfair death. Make the stamina last longer then there would also be a point in being able to replenishing it.
