Who doesn’t like bacon? That’s right kids, all people love bacon. Sorry vegans, you don’t count as people. Sugartoast.com has just given the free online gaming community a whole new way to play with their food, except the food is virtual and you can’t eat it when you’re done. This shouldn’t discourage players from giving the game a try, though. It’s not often that one has the opportunity to play as bacon eating bacon, avoiding bacon, obtaining bacon power-ups, against a bacon background.

BACON is extremely straightforward. Eat the good bacon, avoid the burnt bacon (because burnt bacon is disgusting) and eat the glowing, seemingly radioactive bacon for power-ups. All the rules are explained and controls are displayed in the title screen and yes, they are indeed made out of bacon. Well, most of them. BACON operates as a collecting/dodging game that requires you to go through waves of bacon, collecting good bacon in order to keep the bacon bar up, and avoiding burnt bacon to prevent the bacon bar from going down. The various obtainable power-ups either protect the player’s bacon from the burnt bacon or make it easier to obtain the good bacon. For example, “Bacon Boom” sends out an explosion of bacon that removes any burnt bacon that comes in contact with the bacon shrapnel. On the other hand, “Black Hole of Bacon” sucks all the good bacon currently on the screen into the player’s bacon. My favorite personal touch is the rave party that starts up once you achieve a full bacon bar. Keep racking up points and soon you’ll be getting “Cholesterrific” combos!
