how to win: dddddddddddddddddd next one: ddddddddddddd, etc.

Although you clearly put a lot of effort into the game, Andy brave pirate is not very fun or challenging. Enemies' attack animations are quick and it is not obvious when they attack in a pattern. As a result, it is impossible to anticipate when your opponent is about to strike and block his attack. In order to succeed, players are forced to button mash their way through nearly identical fights with the same handful of pirates.

To improve the combat, each enemy pirate needs to move in a pattern or provide a visual cue when they are about to attack. Also, there is currently no significant difference between the sword and hook, nor are there any combos to add depth to the player's abilities. Adding more unique attack combinations would help shift the focus away from button mashing as well.

While these flaws in the combat system make each fight a drag, the backgrounds are appealing and colorful. Almost every stage had a different setting that was drawn with good attention to detail. If the the gameplay was just as well done as the art, this submission would be a game worth fighting for.

P.S Sorry to nitpick, but the arm that has a hook changes when the player faces different directions. If you can, try to draw a different sprite for Andy when he is facing left and right.

I agree with Teravex. It's a really fun but gets repetitive.

Too easy. Bit dull. Good art style and great music, though!

This is cool! I like this!
Pros:
Very Nice Visuals.
Good Music
A lot of charm
Cons:
The game is way too easy even on hard. I found myself just pressing 1 button rapidly to win
The music gets repetitive after a while.
