It's a good idea and I loved it but... The screen needs to be bigger. I keep clicking out of borders and it is a bit annoying.
Have to rank it down significantly due to the appearance of the elite enemy in Stage 15. The difficulty spike was far too high, to the point of being nigh impossible. The frame-rate became sluggish too, with all the missiles and my controls would not respond properly. I think you need to balance out the elite enemies a lot better as to not ruin the flow of the game.
Few games on newgrounds manage to be this hectic and remain playable. Controlling a lone Redhorn against ever increasing waves of drones is exhilarating and keeps the player feeling powerful and overwhelmed in equal measure. The lack of a save function is a serious issue but I keep finding myself coming back to play again and again, even if I have to start fresh every time. I'd love to see a sequel to this game in the near future, hopefully with a save game and a few new tracks for the background music. The only song for the combat fits the feel extremely well, but the vocal rant drags on a bit too long and starts to get stale after six to seven battles. Overall this game is fun, fast paced, and replayable, but has it's flaws. Great, but not perfect.
awesome i liked it
Very good gameplay and art. I can see why you're sponsored. Congrats! I agree with the other reviews though. It would be awesome to have some more bosses.
It was really hard to get passed the first mini boss or whatever. Then I figured out the fomula. Missile launcher for main weapon. Second level armor. And destroyers with fully upgraded armor and beam cannons. Fully armored flagship to. The ships do all the work for you. The last levels flew by. Great game!
