Interesting concept, but the controls, and level design leave much to be desired. The controls are just too loose and a platformer depends on having tight controls so it relies on the skill of the player rather than finessing poor controls. The level design wasn't as bad, and suffers to some extent because of the poor controls, but particularly putting hazards near where a new screen is entered is cheap and frustrating rather than challenging. Also requiring some very finicky jumps with the poor controls makes some of the areas with a lot of them between save points annoying with all the redoes. The last falling section particularly suffers from both the poor controls and level design because the control physics are so loose, and not being able to see where I was falling, it was more just straight up luck than skill.
The positives are that the graphics and concept are solid. With a little more work, I could see this being a solid game.
The controls took time to get used to, but they're nothing horrible. The graphics are great and the caves look beautiful. Great game. Will there be a sequel or a spinoff to give this planet (or whoever written the messages on the walls) more history?
It seems pretty cool, but the controls are way too touchy, and the directions are wrong. You don't use WASD to move, you use the arrow buttons WASD wouldn't work at all. And pressing "X" never did show me how much I'd collected. Not sure what's going on there.
How can you play the game when the steps keep crumbling underneath you instantly?
I've updated the game so now there's a bit of a delay before the block crumbles
Controls could be better, they're pretty clunky... fell of some stone soooo often.
Updated the controls, would love to hear what you think now.
