Whew! beat zone 100. I know people will dock you on the visuals, but I only took off 1/2 star for that because the only problem that gave me was having it hard to see some of the enemy blinking orb attacks and where they were with the purple background. The other gameplay elements were very good. Whenever I had the thought like "wish I had more keys" or "wish I knew what the door was" or "man this basic attack sucks" I would eventually find items that solved all those problems. Also have it so you get the item for or you start off with showing previews of what items do before getting them. The lightening is pretty OP, lets me pretty much stun lock all the boss fights. Letting the enemies shoot through obstacles while I can't is pretty annoying.

What was the point of the axe?

The enemy attacks gets repetitive including the bosses. Maybe change it up like they get your secondary attacks too except colored red to distinguish from yours, but that might make it very very difficult.

Add a small story line, like centaurs invaded and enslaved your people or something.

Took a full star off for the ending. srsly wdf m8?

rekuchn responds:

Thanks for seeing it all the way though.

You make a great point about the monsters being repetitive. Giving them different attacks to switch between is a good idea.

The axe is underwhelming. It does heavy damage and can kill some things in less hits than the sword, but you're right that it isn't pulling its weight.

The basic idea of no item previews is to "save" the player from over-thinking purchases in what I wanted to be a fast paced game. In practice, there are probably less frustrating ways to achieve that.

And yes, I deserve to loose a star for the lack of a real ending or story. My next project will include one.

Not going to lie. I didn't stop playing ti until I beat it.

Its a GREAT game. one of my favorite concepts.

The only thing that made me sad is by zone 85, I already had all the items. And yet they kept reappearing in the store. I was hoping if I bought them again, it would upgrade them, but no sadly. I had over 800 money left when I beat it.

I really hope you make more like this.

A really well made game. 5/5

rekuchn responds:

Thanks for the encouragement.

While I won't be adding any new items to this game, I'll make sure to add a money sink or endgame store to my next one. Great suggestion.

In my opinion, this game needs a lot of work. But I do see some hard work in it.

The artwork is not great. It's original, but far from adequate.

The purpose of the game is not clear at all. Do the player just fight and travel through doors? it there a goal?

The variety of weapons is cool, but without a better description of them I have no idea what the point of them is.

I did like the variety of levels. That was nice. And I really like the main weapon that fired the small squares at enemies. That was a nice change up from the the other weapons.

Music was good, and the variety of monsters was okay.

The death scene was way too long.

The game is repetitive, despite the occasional bizarre level.

Overall, this is a well coded, well thought out game but just not up to the standards needed to be on newgrounds.

rekuchn responds:

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.

All of the items and special weapons all have mouseover text, but I guess it does not provide anything as informative as damage numbers or firing speed.

This game has Horrible graphics and annoying repetetive music, the gameplay is no fun at all and it's way too easy. Blam this. I just give you half a star for the work and time you obviously spend to create this. Don't give up and try to make a better game.

rekuchn responds:

Thanks for taking the time. For what its worth, the game gets harder as it goes.
