This is my first time uploading to Newgrounds.
Worked on this game on and off for a couple years, the longest I think I've worked on a game so far. Its 15 levels with 3 bosses.
[CONTROLS]
Spacebar = Shoot
Arrows = Walk
Enter = Pause
[TIPS]
Shoot enemies while avoiding their fire. Take cover when possible and keep an eye on your health. Try to take out the enemies with rockets first. Simple enough

Not an inherently bad game, it just lacks much progression or variation. The boss fights are interesting, though simple.
A few things you should address though are:
1. It's very difficult to see your shots. There's a lot of yellow and other light colors for the ground, so the bullets don't show up well.
2. Sometimes there is a long pause during the ability to shoot in boss battles. I'd guess reloading normally, but there are no sound cues to indicate this, and it only appears to happen during bosses.
3. Kinda mentioned above, no sound cues. Shots, getting hit, hitting others, winning, etc.
4. Very audible and funny sounding break in the background music's loop after several minutes.
Overall, I think you accomplished what you wanted, it just needs a bit of refining, and visibility of things like "BRACE YOURSELF" for boss battles needs more clarity.

It's a simple but fun game. With a nice challenge to it. If you could make your own bullets stand out a bit more, it would help the game though. They tend to be very hard to see, but all and all i enjoyed it. Great first upload mate
