There's a very tricky easter egg in the title screen! For hints, check out Pacdude Games' Facebook Page at facebook.com/PacdudeGames!
The popular UK word game show is now here to make you feel stupider than ever!
In Rounds 1 and 3, click the Vowel and Consonant buttons (or hit V and C) to draw letters from the piles. Once 9 letters are drawn, you'll have 30 seconds to find the longest possible word. Click the letters or use your keyboard. You get points for submitting words in the dictionary, as well as for submitting the longest possible valid word you can find.
In Round 2, you'll have 30 seconds to unscramble the 8-letter word presented for 25 bonus points.
In Round 4, in addition to finding the longest possible word, you'll have different challenges to accomplish for bonus points.
In Round 5, you'll have 30 seconds to unscramble the 9-letter Countdown Conundrum for 50 bonus points.
You can click the blue Dictionary icon to get definitions of words Dictionary Corner presents to you, and the red Dictionary icon to get definitions of words you present to the game.
E-mail any word errors (no definitions, etc) to countdown@pacdudegames.com. The game currently uses the ENABLE dictionary.
If you've got an iPad or iPhone and live in the UK, go buy the official Countdown app.
not understandable for me and its hard
I'm getting Susie and Giles asleep at the dictionary corner.
Ok, after looots of tries I finally got some of the big medals, got 116 points after adorable word "adoringly" - finaly something easier and normal ;-) But some of the words presented by the game, especially as being the longest one in a round are weird. Also another thing: not sure if anybody else had that feeling, but many times I had to click the mouse button really strong, otherwise the letter would not get selected. Anyway a really good game!
Very fun. One thing to remember: Don't overthink it. Usually in the "random letters" rounds, the longest word will usually only be 6, 7, or 8 letters long, and 90% of the time in the Teatime Teaser and Countdown Conundrum, the word will be a common, everyday one.
Really? The highest is 146?
I got 174...
I know which gameshow I'm going on!!
