We Just Exist is the story of a young man (Jack Campbell) trying to escape a monotonous reality and a haunting past by throwing himself into a surrealistic childlike fantasy world, but these illusions quickly begin to dissolve as a much darker reality is revealed. The films intent was to create a highly symbolic film than mainly relies on it's visuals and sounds to tell its story rather than lengthy dialogue.
The film was put together over the span of two years on a very very small budget,
originally being created as a film for Turramurra Highschool's Visual Arts HSC when i had just turned 17.
The whole thing was pretty much all done by Marcus Graham, most of it shot
at school or in his bedroom. This is Marcus Graham's first attempt at a proper film, but it certainly isn't his last.

The ending actually makes me emotionally cry so hard...
For a small kid that used to make Finding Emo and Uncle F*cker,
This proves that stories like this on this site can be told in a deep way with an creative mind without any Action, unnecessary comedy and even loud cursing.
This Movie proves that Newgrounds Is more than a childish edgy daycare and more of like a free movie theater where creators can push the limits of what this site can offer.
I wish one day you would win an Oscar.

I never would have quite expect to find content like this on Newgrounds.
It just confuses me how the mind altering pills exactly come into play, did they do good for him?
Also I enjoyed all the counter-culture/drug references, thats something new on Newgrounds
I don't usually write a review for anything anymore because it's usually the same stuff, different presentation, but I must say this is the most EXCELLENT video I have seen in over a decade! I am absolutely astounded at how it was put together, the originality, and even the choice of music was immaculate. I was so impressed with this production that I simply just had to write something that let everyone know that this is absolutely worth it's weight in gold (figuratively speaking). I truly think you should go into movie production. You most obviously excel in the arts according to the results of this creation. Excellent job!
