I have been working on Replicus for just less than two months now, and although computer trouble seems to insist that I never see this through... I am now finally proud to present: Replicus. Action-oriented platforming inspired by Super Metroid and Capsized.
Thanks to Stencyl for the awesome toolset and Newgrounds for the opportunity. Enjoy!
PS
If you encounter any (non game-breaking) bug or you get stuck, holding shift and pressing R will reload the game from your previous checkpoint, with all the ammo and health/armor you had at that point.
astronaut ocean aight
keeps getting stuck at the first save :/ 3 cuz idk if its good or bad
Antacid medal is wonky. It says "Kill 5 acid blobs" but I had to kill at least 20 or more before it awarded that. I didn't keep track of exact number but I know it was a hell of a lot more than 5. I just recommend anyone who is missing that medal to keep replaying the last stage and grinding acid blobs doesn't matter if you die a bunch or restart that level a bunch -- pretty sure it's keeping a global counter so it's fine and this should work (worked for me anyway)
Controls are, well, wonky, but the game has a better-than-average quality to it. 4 stars seems fair.
It's been done before, so it isn't really new. I've only gotten to the first checkpoint and already I can feel the game will end up being really hard. The controls are too weirdly spaced for it to be intuitive, so there's no losing yourself in the universe. My game glitched as soon as I hit the first checkpoint and I don't know what to do, but my instincts are telling me to give up and not try anymore. It may be a bit hard to make a game like this, but if you can't get the controls intuitively, you might as well try sticking to something else. I'm not trying to limit you or anything but I really think this deserves more work. I'm not sure if this is an earlier work or not so I'm completely unsure if you've improved. This is just my feedback. Other people might like the difficulty.
Good game, though character's double jump is a joke when you need it (mostly on that acid pit part)
