Virsteinn vs. Drifts

This is a project I was doing over the year as an assignment for my Animation class. I believe mine was the best out of all my classmates, but frankly, that's an understatement. Mind you, a lot of my classmates had handicaps or just did their animations to get the grade, or both.

Needless to say, I am not the most talented flash animator on Newgrounds; there are plenty who are better at their first times and/or have had a lot more experience animating. In fact, in my class, there was this one dude who had animated prior to taking the class, and he had this awesome-looking animation featuring a tap-dancing hero who could create explosions through his dancing, and a red giant with dress pants and shoes and no shirt who was wrecking the city. This animation doesn't even compare.

Horror. Nightmare...
What are you an animator, were thinking, releasing this? If the characters are not living and on the text of their speech, you probably worked harder than on the animation. Are you new? Making excuses? People post videos already processed. I was interested in the outcome of your skills, not in showing my weaknesses. You know all your flaws, but why do we need to know?! Such a great music, the background is generally suitable, but it turned out...

I agree, you're new and you wanted to demonstrate your abilities, but they're not developed, you know, but you're putting it out there. Why, why? What was the point of the already predicted failure? There's so much extra that if you remove it, the video will last no more than a few. Where is the tension? Where is the fire, the flame of the battle described in the melody? Where is all this Foundation? Where's it all gone, with the helicopter away?
You will be angry and judge me, and on the other hand, you will not have to wait for anything else.

Well, it's not, but what about the animation?H ell, even I left it a year ago in better times would treat than to watch this lullaby and I am 14 years old! As there is first, an Orange stickman flew to the clouds without wings and push. From the future of the fight flew a joke, and fix it you never tried. I can see how much you want to be an animator.

I put this assessment is not for the type of action, and for the attitude to their work. And I don't understand why you didn't like such responses when everything they said is true. And you are so small, that because of the comments about it you just sulk and stupidity of the act does not realize. I wouldn't care for this kind of work. But there is also epic music humiliated in the background left, because it is not inferior to the voice acting is not it!?
The horror, the nightmare...

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

A little late, don't you think? In fact, this animation is seven years old. Meanwhile, you feel the burning need to be melodramatic for some stupid-ass reason, regardless of whether doing so actually helps anybody.

Hint hint, it doesn't.

In all likelihood, I was never going to be an animator. Certainly not if I can't even retain the license key I had for flash at the time, which, by the way, is why I never continued and therefore why I will likely never do so.

Instead what I can do is work on that which I have the time and resources to improve; namely, my music. I notice this seven-year-old animation is the only thing of mine you bothered to review, likely also the only thing of mine you bothered to peruse. You wasted your own time if that's the case.

Making excuses? Sulking? You couldn't be further from the truth. I simply faced reality and reassessed my priorities. The reality is, the computer I made this animation on broke, the hard drive was subsequently commandeered and reformatted (without my consent, I might add) by my brother, and with that and my mother unable to recall which email she obtained the license with out of the myriad others she had, I effectively lost the ability to improve my animation skills.

I make no excuses. The animation was dogshit, the voice acting totally amateur, the background ill-composed, and the music horribly mismatched. I did what I needed to in order to get the grade, with the intention of eventually improving on the original animation, but I think we all know the saying about the first casualty of war. Nevertheless, this animation remains as a record of what I attempted to branch into.

I would say thanks for the review, but I'd be remiss if I were to consider this an honest review. You didn't even bother to examine anything else I've done, regardless of what it is. So instead, I'll say thanks for being a joke.

One more thing I'd like to add: my animation, as bad as it is, is still on a higher tier than your writing. I can at least say my animation is coherent, if half-baked and childish. But then I suppose that's the advantage of having a full twelve years of life on the mudslinger you really are.

I've seen your other two reviews. I'm not impressed in the least. You use big words in an attempt to sound smarter than you really are, and you speak from a complete lack of experience, without any concern as to whether your words help whoever they're directed towards.

The reason I know you do this is because I was almost exactly like you at age 14 in how I "reviewed" others' work. I say almost exactly because I was also extremely fastidious in regards to my words and sentence structure, regardless of whether I understood the work necessary to produce such a result. My animation took close to a year to complete. Imagine how long it took for Drifts or Hyun to make their RHG animations.

You call me stupid. I call you a joke. Everybody observing will call us wasteful, and they would be right to do so.

amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

Ok, uh...what did you like about it??????

stupid. why is there talking and smug stupid jokes. you need to work on this too it has potential but they move unequally they either are too fast or too slow. why is there an entire beginning of talking? terrible graphics if there are going to be non flash style why 8-bit graphics. and last crazy startings like the shoop-da-whoop reference right as they finish the "dialogue" that lasted about 4 minutes of my time

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

Are all your reviews like this? Addressing the issues in order: in a lot of RHG animations, there is talking, so dialogue and narration and such shouldn't be surprising; I was also trying to tell something that would pass for a story, so I'm sorry you bitch when there's more story than animation quality. I'm not too sure what jokes you are referring to, unless you're referring to those recordings of myself shouting those things like "MAKANKOUSAPPOU!!!" or "You been kicked/banned, bitch!" or whatever. You think I don't know I have to work on this? Why is there an entire beginning of talking, because my teacher said to put in a big old fucking backstory into the animation if it was going to be a stick animation. I know the graphics are terrible, I'M JUST STARTING OUT. They are not 8-bit. It wasn't really a reference as much as it was a demonstration of one of Virsteinn's many abilities; the shoop da whoop face just happened to be convenient. I've already explained the dialogue to you.

The next time you write a review, try giving tips as to how I can improve. Until then, thanks for nothing.

Fucking moron.

EDIT: Oh my fucking God, I just got trolled.

Funny. Action-packed. But, most importantly, AWESOME!!! I really liked the animation and I laughed at just about every joke the movie threw at me. My only complaint is that sometimes it's difficult to hear the narator's voice. Good job overall! I'm looking forward to the sequel!

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

Yeah, I probably should've recorded myself at a louder microphone level on the conclusion portion. I'm glad you liked it, though.

Thanks for the review!

the early parts looked as if it was made by some kid lol. I guess you were on something or just did not take this very seriously Ik I change my mind; the whole thing looked like it was made by some kid. We have all seen Hyun's/Terkoiz's stuff,.

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

I had no real experience animating prior to taking the class I'm in right now, so it pretty much WAS made by a kid. XD

Although, being nineteen years old, I'm no longer legally a child. I will try and improve, I can say that much.

Thanks for the review!
