Besides being my first upolad to New Grounds, and being a student of Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division, one of the assignments I was tasked to do is redesign a book cover for a novel I know well. Then create a Flash animation out of the resulting image. I decided to to redesign the cover of a small book of sci-fi short stories called Listen To The Future, released by the record label, A Different Drum, in 2004, with an accompanying (cd) soundtrack. The soundtrack features a theme song for each story, and I found it really cool the way each story is conveyed through song and lyric after, first, finishing its literary adventure.
This three second video of mine features the image I created for the eighth story in the book, entitled Firewall, and written by Jennifer Dwarschack-Kinter. Without spoiling her excellently written story, I feel that the symbolism turned out better than I expected for this very simple, everyday scene.
As stated above, this video is a student assignment, and is in no way affiliated with the record label of A Different Drum. Basically it is a free, fan made advertisement. Although, if a representative from A Different Drum happens to catch wind of this project of mine, and they would like to commission my artwork (I have an image for each story) for a re-release of the book/cd combo, that would indeed be sweet as sugar covered strawberries!
