This is the first of several games produced as a 3 week "challenge" called Game Slam at Ninja Kiwi. The idea being that each team of 2 creates something original and complete inside the 3 weeks. This weeks game is Flur, by Chad Edwards and Derek Wu. In their words "Flur aims to be a progressive casual adventure with engaging and nonthreatening gameplay."

Enjoy the game and tell us what you think!

it seems a bit like flow and thats not original .

its not just the collection to evolution and wandering a 2 space to find "food" and that some food is dangerous . since theres less of a interaction with this dangerous food its to simple. it just kinda flies in a direction.

but you do have some originality in it and its not another stick figure fight so ill give it 4

Amazing game... at the right time.

Wow, I haven't ever seen a stoner game on Newgrounds before. This is great. The gameplay was very simple and relaxing, which is a good time-waster if you just wanna chill out. I enjoyed the music, and the sounds made when you collected the orbs. Sometimes, it even aligned itself as a 'beat' that went alongside the ambient music in the background. I found myself trying to time it right in order to make a cooler tune when the orbs really started rolling in. :P Also, the graphics were very well done, and added to the overall atmosphere of the game. It sort of reminds me of Flower for the PS3, where things appeared all wavy and breezy. Not the most action-packed, but certainly the most relaxing game I've played in a while. Great job on this, especially after completing what you have in only three weeks.

For all the people complaining about lack of action and complexity... why are you in the "Skill - Collect" section? Complaining about a lack of action or complexity from this game is like demanding hardcore, eye-popping gameplay from Tetris. It's not going to happen, and if it did, it'd be in another genre. I understand most of you followed here from the front page, but you should at least read the information before getting your mind set to expect something else.

For what its worth this game sets out to become what its trying to be, and for the most part, it succeeds. It did very much feel casual... but engaging? Maybe I'm not your target audience here, but the animations for the fairy felt choppy, the achievement were extremely out of place, and the whole experience was just eh...

Alright, I can't leave it at just that, can I? Let's break this down. The music was ambient, helped set the atmosphere. The animations were choppy, not very well done. The aesthetics weren't too great to be honest. Graphics were nice. Gameplay was awful, even for a casual game. Here's a tip to developers: CASUAL=/= SIMPLE! You can have a casual game using simple mechanics without those mechanics being this bad. Still, the fact that it was made in only three weeks, and that I liked the graphics nets this a 6.
