The Pocalypse Defense is a defense game based on The Pocalypse webcomic (http://www.thepocalypse.
com). You control Joe, a seemingly normal young man... but with super powers! With your friends Bernie, Jess, and robot Harry, your job is to protect the survivors' colony of New Hammerston from hungry zombies, violent mutants, man-eating plant monsters, homicidal machines, and survivor-snatching vampires!

This is the first game from Green Pixel (http://www.greenpixel.ca ) and we're very happy that it's finally being released to the public! Thank you for playing and for your feedback!

UPDATE: Thank you for your feedback! :D We've raised the amount of credits you get after every wave to make the game a bit easier! Also, don't forget that when the blue bar above Joe's head is full, SPACEBAR performs his powerful tornado attack, so use it to your advantage (he'll get dizzy after, though, so use it wisely)! Thanks again and we look forward to more feedback :D (Also, raised the clip upgrade numbers!)

UPDATE: We have a recurring issue with our ad-approval process that is freezing up the game at load time. We apologize and the game is now working again! We are working to permanently solve this problem!
- Added a Retry button that resets score and restores the gate's health, so you can retry the last wave.
- Made shotgun more useful.
- Added End Game & Submit Score button at the end of a wave.
- Joe is now able to reload and walk at the same time.
- No more interruption of reloading on mouse click.
- Added keyboard shortcuts for Harry's abilities.(Z, X, C, and V)
- More ammo for laser and faster reload.
- Nerfed the rocket launcher.
- Made Quick Fix cheaper.
- Fixed a few bugs.


Kinda nice

(Anyone complaining that it's still not loading: Check your adblock. It might be preventing the game from loading. Worked for me)

It's basically pretty good, but there are some things that bother me.
First of all, it's really hard to manage with those robots that shoot lasers and those plants that throw something, because they come at the end and I'm really busy with killing those that are breaking the door. Meaning that I can't go hit or shoot those range monsters behind them. I would do something about that.
Also, Joe isn't the kind of guy who would just move up and down. He would have already ran there into the enemy troops and slaughtered them all.

Joe, it's still not loading. Perhaps you should look into this, friend, and drop another update when it is fixed again.

Good but tedious

This game is good storywise and graphics but once you know the tricks it becomes tedious, as the enemies are always the same string of enemies just a longer string each wave

I passed story mode and reached wave 50 and got all updates.

-Buy the rocket launcher and prioritise upgrade reloading and then clip over damage upgrade you'll never get a enemy in the gate if you just keep shooting
-Jess and bernie upgraded to the max will stop all enemies from reaching the gate till wave 50

-The last battery upgrade is bugged when i try to upgrade it, the next wave harry will have 0 battery and his batteries upgrades will reset
-Unable to lose on purpose to submit my score 3.5 million and since jess and bernie are undefeatable... no top score for me

Could definitely use tweaking.

At maximum gate strength and half-way through the spray upgrades, I was still spending most of my credits on fixing the gate. The auto-repairing is pretty much worthless, with the amount of things banging on the door.
Hit detection can be better, too, because I kept shooting sideways to hit something I could've cared less about while the spitting things were keeping me from doing anything to save myself, even when I was visibly away from the bullet. The survivors would also get torn apart from zombies that weren't even near them.

Fixing the hit detection would be a BIG step in the right direction.
