To be honest I can't really take this seriously if that was the look you were going for. The animation is half decent at best. And it's simply another plain Mario video on New Grounds. Nothing special here.

Run Of The Mill Sprite Animation

Art: 2/10 - I can't give many points here since the art is not original.

Animation: 4/10 - again, because of the use of sprites, the animation isn't very original. The flash had a herky-jerky motion to the fluidity of the animation. Where you did insert animations that wouldn't be found in the game, they were OK, though when the characters break through walls and pipes, there is no rubble and laws of gravity seem to be defied.

Sound: 5/10 - there were points where the sounds weren't completely in synch. Otherwise it was appropriate for the material, if unoriginal.

Plot: 2/10 - they're racing to the end of the level. Not much of a plot. An example of enhancing plot would be using Luigi using coins gathered to bribe a koopa to sabotage Mario's progress.

Action: 3/10 - for a competitive race, I would expect more creative use of action, especially in the interactions between Mario and Luigi. Blocks or coins thrown at each other, creative use of power-ups, etc.

Total score: 16/50 = 3/10.

There's a chance for a decent flash concept if you improve the plot and/or action.
