Though... the smell wouldn't really happen (hell stars are billions of miles away and chemicals (that carry the smell) can't move at the speed of light), I'd suspect that the shit from the organic plantoid would change chemical composition as it burns up in the atmosphere. But if a smell might have happened through most of the shit surviving the atmosphere; it would be horrible; when you're near the large lump of fecal matter that is.
