Happy Halloween, guys.
~~
This took me ~1 week.
More than 4k frames.
All sprites ripped by myself.
Working with AS3.
~~
It's obviously not my best work and it could use some tweaking, but I hadn't enough time.
That would explain the few lags here and there.
And it's rather short compared to others.
I think, it's less than 3 minutes or something.

There's an eas... or maybe...
There's an Halloween Pumpkin hidden in the V.2 series and this is no exception.

A hint for the brainless audience:
"WS" and "U[^]-D[v]" are the keys and then "Enter" the pumpkin hell.

...Wow, I suck at this. XD

Anyway, have fun watching and happy Halloween once again. Muwahahahaha!
PS.: I will update, if there are any minor issues. So please leave a comment.

That is great.

Great feature. Welcome back Pkmn2.

Pkmn2 please do more sprite flashes because it is a nostalgic factor and as far as I can tell you're the only one who does it good enough to make them repeat views.

That said I loved this and it brought back memories to watch Ghouls and Goblins or w/e..wow so long.

Pienkaito responds:

Really? Wow, thanks.
Then stay tuned for more V.2 =P

Wow

It was awesome, I just couldn't dig the 8 bit look in it, but I won't rate your 10* mark because of it, it would be stupid to say something is bad for what it is, so I'll just instead tell you that I got bugged by the non connected Mario material at the beginning, since its got nothing to do with Ghosts 'n Goblins... Other than that you emulated the feel in games perfectly, and it looked like one of those old castlevanias, and the boss fight was really well done, awesome job

Quite nice

It was a bit hard to follow at first (and yes, I also tried to control the character thinking this was a game >_> ) because I didn't know why all of a sudden a mouse pointer appears that tries to defeat the hero of Ghost n Goblins.

The pacing of the flash is quite nice, though. At the beginning everything seems to be normal, then the mouse pointer appears. While Sir Arthur tries to go through the game normally he is in constant danger because of said pointer.

Some of the voice samples where used with pretty good timing (for example the "run coward, run!" one), others like the laughing where a bit overused in my opinion.

Overall, it's a nice flash that could use some more work in script writing, as the story is a bit hard to follow.

Pienkaito responds:

It's actually very simple, if it comes to the "script".
I won't tell any details, because of spoilers.

Did I really animate the beginning so perfectly, so that people think it's a game? O_o
But thanks for the review, you guys rock. =D

Not bad

At first, I thought it was a game, but when I wasn't able to do anything, I gathered that it was a movie, but that's about the only thing that gave it away for me. Try adding some sort of script for this piece, as otherwise it's just a gameplay demo, which wasn't all that good, to be honest.

I'm extrapolating and seeing the script underneath this a little, though I'm not exactly that well versed on what the hero is doing or why he's fighting against a mouse pointer, in some sort of "Animator Vs. Animation" piece.

Perhaps in the third instalment, he's going to break out of the game and make it to the user's desktop, where the fight becomes a lot more real. Making a story for us to follow and adding subtitles to bring it all together would make this piece a lot better.

We've got a great piece here that just needs a little more work to polish it and we're talking something that could legitimately push for awards.

Pienkaito responds:

But it's labeled as movie. Oh well. You ain't the only one.

This has more potential, but due to deadline issues, it didn't come out as good as I hoped.
The main point about the V.2 series is about a creature, which has the ability to change the past videogame-generation.
Also, the hero (Sir Arthur in this) sees Curse-R as a threat/enemy.
The series maybe inspired by "Animator Vs. Animation" but this is different. Not totally, but different.

Thanks for the well-written review.
