UPDATE (8/12/2010 12:23PM): Fixed overlapping screens. (Was caused by pressing enter on game over or win screen).
This is the first game I ever made in flash. After being a Newgrounds user for so long it feels very odd submitting something to the portal for once.
This game is very simple and very short. To describe it in short, it's a abstract representation of limbo.
CONTROLS:
-HOLD MOUSE BUTTON:Causes player to move upward if held down, otherwise the player will constantly fall down.
-SPACE:Pauses the game.
The audio was made using my voice and a microphone.
I hope someone will find a liking to it.

Very few times in my life I've seen or heard things that caused me to break down and weep, however purgatory is one of those things. If the game industry is currently in a dark ages purgatory can be named as the Renaissance. I was a devote atheists before playing this game and now i'am on my way to church to praise God for giving me games like purgatory. Also the music's fucking incredible

Its not a bad idea having a story being told as you move along and I really like that you can read what all the lil' guys are saying. This makes it almost atmospheric, which is very impressive for a simple avoiding game.
But it doesn't work. The controls don't start up fluently and when it does start it lags badly. The screens also have an annoying way of going over each other, so I could still see the menu when i was playing.
Fix it up so that it is fully playable and you will have a pretty decent game on your hands.

Some are having the overlapping issue where some aren't i can't seem to repeat it, but i know what your talking about haha. Thanks!
