This is my first game. It was made by following the Shootorials on Kongregate which was a great help for a first time programmer. All art and sound effects were done by me.

Not bad for a first.
This one is generic but not bad, so far I only found 2 power ups with the same symbol so i recommended you change that as well add more. Overall not so bad for a first good luck with other games.

Thanks. There are actually 3 power ups and I'm currently working on making it easier to distinguish them from each other.
Generic
There isnt anything special about it. And if youre going to try and make a game. atleast spend a little bit of time on the visuals. Its a start, but thats about it.

You're right. I was actually more focused on the programming and less on the graphcs. I'll probably update them later.
A nice, brief distraction
This game has the basic makings of a solid flash game. It's simple, takes about a second to learn, would take a lot longer to master.
The downside is, we've seen about a hundred flash games like it. On the surface, there's very little to distinguish this from any other sidescrolling, bullet hell space shooter. That's not terrible though. There are much worse things to be than a typical entry in a respected sub-genre of arcade flash games.
I thought the fairly simple graphics were charming, and the easy learning curve makes this a decent game to play at work or just whenever you need a little distraction.
Overall, a solid game, if not a terribly innovative one.

Thank you for your input. I started this game just to get the feel for action script. I might try to make more games and just build off of this one.
