Fire and Water Tutorial

Author Comments

A short tutorial I wrote in about two days after discovering how to animate fire, and having discovered how to animate water a couple months prior. I simply had to share my tips with the rest of Newgrounds. It's very simple, but gets the point across.

RECOMMEND FOR TUTORIAL COLLECTION PLEASE

It's awesome and Stuff, but...

How do you recommend things?

Kwing responds:

On the left it says "Help this author!" and below that you can recommend it for a collection.

Great Tutorial

The water section goes way to fast to read so you have to hit the stop button and go frame by frame

Nice Tutorial.

Only thing I'd say is make the text at the ending about water not change as the animation goes, like you did with the fire.

Kwing responds:

I wanted the text to sync with the water animation, so you could get an idea of "this part is referring to this part". I -could- have listed the frames and said something like "frames 3-9 show this" but I think the way I did it is a bit better.

It's actually pretty good.

At first i thought it would be some crappy FX tutorial, but i was wrong. It's good and it serves it's purpose for making non-noobish fire/water effects.

Really good tutorial!

The animation is really well done, and the tutorial is easy for anybody to understand. Props to this.

Also, fun fact, Moovlin PC uses these techniques for the intro!
