A never ending shooty-thingy!
(not only the title, but a pretty good description of the game)

Goal:
There is no real way of "winning"... you just have to try and survive for as long as possible while trying to get a really high score. You start with 5 lives and never get any more. Grenades can be picked up and thrown... but the shrapnel from these grenades can kill you too.

Controls:
Shift = throw grenade (when you have them)
Left & Right = move
up = jump
spacebar = shoot

This is my first attempt at an AS3 game which started off as a platformer test. The graphics are quite simple because I haven't currently got my tablet back from someone, so I just used a mouse for most the graphics, except for the background that I slapped in... that's an oil painting from one of my old exhibitions (called "the most frustrated state of calm" for reference). The music was something I composed ages ago for a uni animation using a drum machine and synth.
Since this was my first AS3 project I had to overcome the "sound preloading" problem... Because of my very simple solution you will hear a weird explosion when the game starts... I figured out a better way about an hour later, but the early version is in this game.

Well, hope you like and I look forward to seeing some highscores.

Hah...

Really simple shooter, but additing :)

Not bad.

Not bad, needs some revamping, but not bad. Care to send me a message telling me how you got your bullets to hit the enemies?

Kalisme responds:

Yeah, I was thinking about doing a more Xevil styled game... this was more of a AS3 test than anything. And I'll be sending you a message soon explaining how I did collisions.
