I rarely have anything positive to say about Asteroid clones, as they never change the formula and usually fall sub-par compared to the original. While I still didn't enjoy this one, I can applaud it's attempt to change the formula.

As you are playing a Gastronaut, naturally you shoot stuff out of your butt. As such, your projectiles come from behind you opposed to the original's in front. Additionally, you can only propel yourself forward (with turning) due to movement via flatulation.

Not to mention they nailed the early 2000's flash look.

While the game itself looks good, and has some good music, both the concept and functionality of it are lacking.

First off, it's literally a fart joke, like dude, it's not that funny. There were two major issues I had with the key components of the character, which made this game very annoying to play. You had very little mobility, and had to turn around to fire your shots, and the shots themselves didn't very far. Combined with a time limit, this makes the game much worse than it could've been.

I must admit that the graphics seem to stand the test of time. It was weird because it wasn't even that much about farting in the first place. Like the original "Asteroids" game, you could basically just stay in the same spot the whole time. The farting didn't give you much mobility. What the heck were those things this guy was shooting out of his anus? Something VERY bad, I imagine.

I'm glad to be the first person to review this in nine years. I think the sounds are pretty decent and they synch up well. I just don't think that the guy has that much power. It seems like it's easy to rip apart those asteroids at first, but after awhile, you need to hit them many more times. I do like the cartoonish appearance of the main character and the game, though.
