It is competent without excelling anywhere.

If you have to tell the player not to click on the "playing pieces" then tweak the controls to be more intuitive.

I sometimes missed the computer players move and wished either the animation was more overt (ie flashing more moving pieces) or I could have the move replayed preferably both.

That said chess is said to be a challenge to implement so kudos for what you have achieved.
