Titan Climber

Titan Climber was born in early 2010 as a game design project at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The original game idea was created by visual artist Chris Cromwell. The goal of the project was to create a fun and addicting Flash game over the course of one semester. The project is currently still underway.

NOTE REGARDING THE GAME'S PERFORMANCE: Titan Climber was developed on very high-end Mac computers, where lag was never an issue. Unfortunately, the game's frame rate is severely impacted on weaker systems. In addition, there is a small glitch in the game that causes the first level to run slower than the other two, which further decreases the frame rate. We have been unable to isolate and fix this glitch at the present time. Admittedly, the game experience is not a good one if you are encountering high levels of lag. For this, we sincerely apologize.

NOTE REGARDING THE GAME'S MEDALS: The full game has been play-tested multiple times by many different users, and I can confirm that though some of the game's Medals may seem tough, they are 100% confirmed possible.

NOTE REGARDING THE GAME'S ASPECT RATIO: Originally, the game was intended for both Flash and the iPhone, so the game runs natively at 480 x 720; however, Newgrounds limits submissions' heights to 700, so formatting errors are visible on the left-most and right-most of the screen.

Sorry, but it's lacking some things

The game was great, but there was a few things I really noticed that you could probably fix. The speed was one noticeable thing that kind of bothered me. Without proper speed it may seem impossible to dodge the spikes. The spiders almost always never let me go. I can't give you no stars because you tried. The music was catchy in my opinion, but not catchy enough for me to come back filled with joy.

There was a game in the mid 80's.....

....called Crazy Climber. It was a fast, addicting climbing game full of graphic obstacles. This doesn't come close to a game made in 1984??? Too bad,..has potential.

well

this would be fun if youre max speed wasn't 0.00001 mile/hour

Not Bad

Your concept is good, but your game logics are a bit poor. Taking health to attack, and having a very very slow mobility rate is just painstaking.

But it's not addictive

The key to having an addictive game is the pace, and this one crawls along extremely slowly. Give the player more speed.

In a related note, if I'm holding up and right, I should be moving in both directions with the same speed as I would if it were the only direction I were going. Especially considering the spiders do that already. With the controls the way they are now, I'm not convinced that it's possible to get past the point where there's a wide ledge and 3 spiders without killing them, which would make one of your medals impossible to get if I'm correct. That makes the game frustrating rather than addictive, and people are going to walk away from it.

That said, the art is very good as well as the music, and it IS a good idea. You just need to work on the pace and player movement.
