Ok, so I know this sounds weird, but all of these puzzle games have things to learn from AARP. They have puzzles like these, but they have a couple features that are really helpful. The first is an "edge piece only" view, and a view change that switches whether the board or the loose pieces are on top of everything else, so you don't have to go hunt down pieces that have managed to hide under the board. This was wel done otherwise however, good start!

I feel like you're spending more time moving stuff around to find a piece than puzzling... It has a really crowded feel to it...
