10/10 Game i got rickrolled though.
UPDATE: Wow! Front page! Thank you! I'd like to say that, yes it doesn't have much of a story, but it's only supposed to be a fun run-and-gun platformer made in a little over a week. And yes, we love Cave Story!
UPDATE 2: Now with a better intro and some tweaks.
Made for Flixel February!
Press P to pause. You can also use SPACE to jump and CTRL to fire.
We got it in *just* under the wire, and it's kind of rough. If you find any bugs or problems, let us know!
You, the lone crew member on a small vessel, find a space station near the edge of explored space beaming out a distress call. As anyone would do in such a situation, you blindly investigate.
Features include multiple weapons, rocket jumping, fast physics, and a retro style.
I would like to thank Synteza for producing the loops for us. They're awesome.
10/10 Game i got rickrolled though.
Solid gameplay controls were easy to learn. I enjoyed the physics where you could rocket jump and fly with the machine gun. I also very much enjoyed all the interactive parts on the map. You could have made some of the ending parts a bit harder, but overall it was a fantastic game.
I was actually looking for an RPG (dunno why it's tagged so in NewGrounds), but this was enjoyable nonetheless :) Aiming and shooting was a bit annoying, especially when monsters wereon a lower level and the only way to hit them was get too close... (or jump on their heads, as I realized at some point). Still, for a week's work, a game including multiple weapons, several enemies + boss, secret areas etc is quite an achievement.
Glad you like it :)
Why is this game so good? Seriously, I can't get my head around it. Sure, it's a short Cave Story sci-fi, but it is a game just like I love em: short and pure fun. Thank you so much for this little piece of greatness.
Thank you! Glad you like it so much!
good game
