The central purpose of this figurative piece is in perspective, experimental, iconoclastic work. It has captured the essence of life and its juxtaposition with the inevitably of death in a truly simplistic form. You are encouraged to view Pepper as a lost soul, and his helicopter hat as what he thinks is a way out, but in fact only leads into endless, blank, oblivion. You are encouraged to ponder upon the ultimatum of the universe, and the jar of something that is possibly food, possibly marbles and also may be something else that makes us ask the question "What are we? Who are we? Why are we here? Are those marbles or what?" The jar can also act as a hiding place, representing humanity hiding in technology and the like to keep the questions of infinity at bay, while the butterfly may represent how we play follow the metaphorical leader in politics, and altogether - life. This work is not just a pointless game - it is art in it's truest, most spiritually exploratory form.
