This was a project i had for Class this semester. Its a relatively simple game. The premise is to get your player to the bottom of the screen, however randomly created mazes are in your way. The player must use the 1, 2 and 3 buttons to remove the mazes.

Click the Difficulty Buttons to Change the Amount of Walls Spawned as well as the Rate which you can change the maze.

Fight against the clock to get down in time!

*Edit* All Reviews will be taken not as insults or badly, rather suggestions on what i could do to make it better... All comments are welcome thanks again :)

ok im sorry...

if this ruins the game for anyone else, but if you hold 1, 2 , and 3 at the same time you can remove all three colors and simply walk through. if you can fix this issue it would be an OK game. to improve on the OK issue, add some backgrounds, music, or even the ability to pick easy medium and hard instead of just getting a random map each time, good luck and thanks for the attempt.

Thanks for the feedback, i'll take all those into consideration when i start constructing V2, the much improved game :) haha

Hard to fight against a clock counting up...

I'm sorry to say, but there seem to be a number of issues wit this game.

I suppose the first and least technical problem is that there really doesn't seem to be any sense of advancement. Every maze solved leads to a try again with no progression or change in the game. Even a change of background scenery might have mitigated this issue.

Presentation: These things make the game feel less polished or finished.

Cursive fonts are fancy, but also harder to read. The timer starts counting even while in the intro dialog screens. The Easy/Medium/Hard buttons, if they actually work (and I'm not sure they do) don't show their state. The play and pause buttons could probably be combined into one button that, again, should show its state.

The walls spawn into the rest of the UI area, which looks very sloppy. The walls spawned counter also got stuck for me.

I also noticed several spelling errors. A quick proofread never hurt anyone. ( And now I will invariably mistype something here, of course. )

Gameplay:

There is a very glaring gameplay issue here that I encountered, in that it's possible to turn off all of the walls by holding 1, 2, and 3 down. I'm not sure what you intended, but removing all of the walls makes beating the game almost trivial. As well, when doing this and then beating the level, the walls stay stuck off, and won't reappear until I hit the number keys again.

I hate to sound so negative, but I do want you to improve on your work. Keep at it!

GriffenFargo responds:

Thanks for the feedback, I'm always open to new suggestions and love to hear about errors in the gameplay so i know what to avoid next. This being my first flash game, i felt it would be good to submit and get any feedback, negative or positive.

Eh...

Looks like it could be a neat idea, but it has problems.
For instance, when you die, you spawn randomly. The random spawn locations are usually ontop of a wall, and you die again. I died once and lost all my lives. This happened several times and is very annoying. It would be nice if you did't die when you touch a wall. Just run into instead.

GriffenFargo responds:

Good suggestion, i like that idea, maybe ill be able to add that in to v2
