Not bad, I really like the concept. With a bit of bughunting, some sounds and ironing out the graphics, I could easily see this one on the Greatest Games list.
You wouldn't happen to still have the source files so you could some day rework it (or possibly release it on GitHub or something so others can rework it)?

You did random generation 2-3 years before it became popular, but since it's popped up into the mainstream now, I believe now is the perfect time to get Genesis v.2 out.

Nice attempt

The game functions but the physics on how the bounce off from the tiles and paddle seems to get "confused" fairly often when a corner is used or when the block disappears from the game. The Random generated levels is a neat idea, but possibly just cuts back work from having to design your own? Either way that's not nearly as big of an issue as the physics. In the end of it, this is a difficult game to do right, most of us have played this type of game for years, and with the number of variations, something this plain, with lack of power ups and types of bricks aside from just colors, is really a passover. This game shows some potential at design, but this really isn't the right type of game to get into making for the masses.

PeteWaugh responds:

Thanks for the review! I agree about the slightly 'confused' physics, this is a college project that I used to demonstrate the basics of random level generation.I should have probably spent more time ironing the bugs out of the code before submitting the game but just haven't had the time recently.

well it wasnt bad

it was slow paced, maybe you should add a speed toggle, but other than that i liked it.

PeteWaugh responds:

The game does take a while to pick up pace and speed options is something I would consider if I ever did a full featured version of the game. Thanks for the feedback!

I've come across a problem.

When the stage turns on it's side, it is very hard to bounce the ball back. Maybe, if you could alter the control scheme to the keyboard? I didn't really check if that was a choice, but yeah.

PeteWaugh responds:

Control scheme can be changed in the options menu.

Too Slow

too slow paced and very laggy. include a quality button!

PeteWaugh responds:

Quality selection is available in the options
