Okay, but a little too random for me
This game does indeed seem like Bejeweled, only with smiley faces and the fact that you eliminate combos directly instead of swapping two pieces. I'm not too fond of the game or similar puzzle games like it, as the resulting falling blocks that happens after eliminating pieces set up random chains at best. Sometimes, I could get no combos, sometimes, there could be this random ten chain that forms.
And I'm not completely sure how the combos in the chains are formed, as it doesn't seem to follow the elimination rules when clicking on a combo, as the chains happen so fast. For instance, I can click on a combo of three pieces that form a right angle, but when such a thing happens when the blocks come down, it doesn't work, and the combo is stopped. So I'm thinking that chains happen whenever three or more like pieces fall in a column or row, and then they also consume like pieces near them as well. Of course I could be terribly off.
Anyway, I'm probably not the best guy to be reviewing this game, but will make a couple of suggestions:
I do suggest a explanation of the chain system.
Also, you should probably remove the energy bar from Free Mode (or at least the blurb about it when you enter that mode), as it doesn't drain at all after forming a combo.
Lastly, in Challenge Mode, I don't seem to notice any energy recovery after making combos, even though, once again, the text in the beginning says something about that. Then again I never did play long enough to complete one run of Challenge mode.
