I'm learning Action Script 3.0. What I have made here is a traditional match 3 game, but added levels and time attack, (and a little easter egg). Original match 3 game goes on to no more matches are possible.
If you haven't seen a game like this before, I believe it's time for you to move out of the rock you living under.
In a more design note. It was fun to make jewels. I first did not want to, and tried a more flat star trek computer design, but it just became hard to play. And I went away from my first "Star trek" design and more for a mine/cave design.
The jingle is not by me, but from iMovie. The sound effect is from a glass I had nearby the computer.
Though this game is far from unique, I hope at least you have a good time playing it :) See if you can beat my score, I'm Stian Thomassen.

Boom! 169000 something like that! I thought it was an endless mode that when the time run out,we lose but not only that,it's when we also have no match to do!Finally,I wanted to end,though I wanted to make a big score!
Love the ambiance,Egyptian music with jewel of different kind,the green one is really well though,yet creative(It's a spiky emerald,I swear!)
The challenge is interesting!Making match to past to the next level!Combo/Chain is the key here!

give you an 6. If you would change the shapes of the jewels you will get more. But you would even get more, if you add more sound and more colours to it. Also it would be nice to see something like specials jewels. sorry. Only 6. I am very sorry.

Addictive, brain puzzler, thinking, and much more this really got my lazy brain back up in working I really like this one and a great taste in the music as well that don't want you to put it on mute keep up the great work. :)

If you are going to make another game like this, tweak the scripting so that we can just click the box and not the jewel to switch two things. Also, you could look to Bejweled games as an example for what you can do. Hope you become an amazing scriptor.

Okay, for a first timer.
So per your notes you're just playing around to learn actionscript 3.0. I can dig that. It's way better than a lot of the crap people throw us branded learning projects. That said, it's still a cheap Bejewelled knockoff with unresponsive controls and an annoying soundtrack.
Not playing around. Writing the code, not coping it (What would I learn from that?).
As far as the soundtrack goes, you can turn it of in the game.
