It's a bit lacking in audio, on your next flash you could put some in, as well as take your time with the animation itself. (For a birthday gift like this I'd recommend making it ahead of time)

The animations of the skateboard was good and the skater could use some improvment. You could have made the background better though.
Find some more time!
Don't let the title come across as mean sounding cause its not. I mean you need to find some more time because you show some real promise as an animator. The animation parts were really clean and smooth for the skateboard.
You need to just work on your art detail and overall presentation. Also it would be nice if your next one had sound.
