I remember playing these Operation Powerpuff games back when they first came out on Newgrounds over 20 years ago. Good god Newgrounds flash artists had a thing for being ridiculously, overly edgy back then. I wonder where H3 is these days is, and what he's doing now. Did they go on to create new things, or was this their only accomplishment? And if it's the former, did they continue making edgy stuff, or did they mellow out?

As for how these old Operation Powerpuff games hold up, they really show their age. The animation is rough, the clicking QTEs require you to think a little faster than what's fair to expect, and the response to the clicking is a little wonky. Plus, the edginess of the concept of brutally killing cute cartoon characters has lost its appeal.

Looking back, I wonder if H3 hated the Powerpuff Girls or if this was just for shits, giggles and shock value.

Did H3 know anything about the PPG and what they're capable of? Or did they simply hand-wave killing the PPG with mundane weapons and objects that would, in a more accurate scenario, bounce harmlessly off their superpowered bodies? Especially considering that the assassin that you play as is apparently able to beat down a superhero with just their bare hands.

Well, H3 is gone from the internet. So we'll never know. All I'll say is that playing these games again after 24 years was nostalgic for me, but they definitely did not age well.

love this game.
