Hi newgrounds this is my first submission. This was a university project and also my first attempt at flash animation. The song is Nick Drake's "From the Morning" hence the unoriginal title. Feel free to leave both negative and posotive comments and be as critical as you like. Cheers Newgrounds.

Cheers Zero, My goal was to choose a simple yet familiar storyline for a 1 minute animation, it doesnt get more familiar or simple except maybe if I move on to single cell organisms :)

The style was largly determined by the fact that I cant draw very well so I played to my strengths and spent hours in photoshop beforre animating anything, god bless Flash and its smooth lines.

cut out style background and good use of stick men - for once!
Good use of the cut out style allthough the pictures got a bit pixelated as you zoomed in on the characters. Excelent use of different backgroundlayers to give the illusion of debt, espessially in the sceenes that included the sun.
Story was very good, I liked the transitions between the "ages". Felt smooth.
The end was sort of the weak link, but I think you are on the right track. Maybe you could try with a feathered transparent filter instead of the yelow cone like that bacause it would blend better in with the background. I also found it a bit odd with the eyes of the old amn gliding all over the place in his head :/ The smirk was a nice touch though.
Replay button screen seemed a bit amateurish compared to the rest - badly drawn and the button wasn't usable over the whole surface.

Thanks for the in depth review. Cant beat good honest feedback. The eyes are a bit mental. As far as the end and the play button, I am ashamed of them, it was a rush job at the end (uni deadline) will definitly go back and change these. Cheers

this was a great movie, 5'ed but whith a file size of 3mb u should REALLY add a preloader, if u don't know how ng has tutorials and downloadables.

Thanks Lsharp, There was originally a preloader with this but it was so bad (see the play again button) that I cut it out. Will have to work on a nice one for it.
