There's only one proper way to learn science: through SONG!
This is a bio project about glycolysis, the first step in cellular respiration in all cells. It is the epic tale of a glucose molecule becoming two pyruvate. If you had trouble learning the steps before, rejoice-- nothing stays in your head like a catchy tune and a lack of vocal talent.
Credit also goes of course to my group members!
LYRICS*
A glucose molecule was floatin' around
the cytoplasm with other compounds
when suddenly 2ATP burst from the shade
and destabliz'd the bonds 'twixt atoms made
Glucose, unstable, began glycolysis :
'glucose' means sugar; splitting 'lysis'
for we split glucose to make energy
that we store in the bonds of ATP
from which we steal with phosphorylase
to turn glucose into glucose-6-phosphate
but this also turns ATP into ADP
a reaction which takes energy
then an isomerase enzyme makes isomers
rearranges G-6-P into something similar:
a fructose-6-phosphate molecule
different arrangement with the same formule (-a)
This is the Ultimate breakdown, of glucose for energy
compounds, enzymes, and conversions, too small for the eye to see
one compound will remain, I wonder what it will be
this is the Ultimate breakdown, of glucose for energy.
Phosphorylase took a bite out of ATP
like Bryn took a bite out of his sushi
with a phosphate subtrate + fructose-6-phosphate
to make fructose-1,6-biphosphate
this compound decomposed because t'was unsteady
it split into two: G-3-P and NADP
but isomerase changed di-hydroxy-acetone-phosph ate
which resulted int 2 glyceraldehyde-3-phosphat e
Then NAD took hydrogen with hydrogenase
it became NADH+H while phosphorylase
took a phosphate group from the ATP compound
making 1,3-biphosphoglycerate with new phosphate bound
which was made very pointless when in the next step
ADP reclaimed the phosphate group
with phosphorylase, and ATP was made,
along with a molecule of 3-phosphorylate.
This is the Ultimate breakdown, of glucose for energy
compounds, enzymes, and conversions, too small for the eye to see
one compound will remain, I wonder what it will be
this is the Ultimate breakdown, of glucose for energy.
Compounds were changed in quick succession
in glycolysis of cellular respiration
which takes a glucose molecule and breaks it apart
-- glycolysis is only the start.
of this long process which all cells complete
even bacteria and the plants that we eat.
it creates the necessary energy
to carry out the cell's activities
A Glucose destabliz'ed by 2ATP and
becomes glucose-6-phosphate with one P
fructose-6-phosphate, fructose-1,6-phosphate
and two glyceraldehyde-3-phosphat e,
1,3-biphosphoglycerate, 3-phosphoglycerate,
which is rearranged into 2-phosphoglycerate
which is dehydrated by dehydrase
to make phosphenol pyruvate
they all came from each other lightning fast
to release the energy in glucose stashed
its a process that happens constantly
unless it runs out of NAD+
and glycolysis raged in entities
many enzymes were used but eventually
the product to which this process equates:
2 molecules of pyruvate!
This is the Ultimate breakdown, of glucose for energy
compounds, enzymes, and conversions, too small for the eye to see
one compound will remain, I wonder what it will be
this is the Ultimate breakdown...
this is the Ultimate breakdown...
this is the Ultimate breakdown...
of glucose for energy.

Educational
~~REVIEW~~
Well it does teach some that was the good part, the "AUDIO" was abit scratchy so possibly a better quality mic or music instead
~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
A better mic
~~OVERALL~~
Decent flash
~X~
Science!
Somewhat interesting idea, but needs work.
boring
i dont even have speakers and i can tell this is something you use to put you to sleep. thank i had a big essay due tommorow and this put me to sleep
Dull...
1. Get a better mike.
2. Make sure that your words fir withing the bars.
3. Singer-boy. Practice.
I won't blam this for it, but I really think you should give more mention to Lemon Demon for this, other than saying at the top that credit goes to your group and mentioning after the lyrics that Lemon Demon made the tune.
