Not that bad

Actually this music video wasn't pretty bad, the lyrics to the song weren't very good, but it was good you did it. What was funny is the part when they stabbed that man, these 2 old people sure is a disaster, if they were actually a live, I would've run away right away from those crazy hooligans. But anyways you should make another creative music video, and this music video was pretty long, but I like long animations, too.

The concept was interesting, like they were disaster old people that were both 82 years old. Also the most liked part was when they were killing people, I liked the other part when they shooted a bazooka in the mall, clever ideas, nice ideas. But what's with the other pictures like the weird sandals and the others? But, that was a bit funny though.

The graphics were well drawn, but it wasn't that impressive, but the blood graphics were quite well, of course, blood are supposed to be, there simple. But the weapon graphics were not bad, but except for the knife. It didn't look very nice, next time; you should make a big, but better knife. But the knife graphics isn't really important. But I just wanna express my opinions so next time you could also make another cool looking knife. But who cares nice job on the graphics though.

~ Animation ~

I enjoyed the slow animation personally even if most didn't. I thought that you exaggerated their speed just enough. They didn't walk too slow for it to become annoying to watch, but it was still slow enough to add a very humorous effect to it.

Some things could have been worked on here as well. Things such as when the old couple stabbed the teenager with the umbrella. I thought that was very jumpy and it could have used a bit of the "in between" animations such as them actually stabbing the umbrella into him instead of it just instantly appearing in him.

Overall animation was smooth in most parts, but it had it's times when it was kind of skippy/glitchy or basically not as smooth as it could have been. A bit rough at times.

~ Graphics ~

The graphics were done very well in some places and not so well in some places. The people themselves were drawn pretty decently. I thought overall they could have been done a bit better, but they weren't bad by any means at all.

An example of drawings that could have been done a bit better would be the example of the newspaper. The paper itself was done very sloppy and it could have been improved greatly.

I also didn't like the use of real pictures too much. They really didn't take away too much, but I do think that if you would have drawn the signs instead of using pictures of the real life versions that it would have looked a bit better.

Overall though like I said the graphics weren't what I would call bad. Most backgrounds and characters were done well and with some fine tuning this could become better graphically quite easily.

~ Story/Content ~

I had personally never heard the song, but it was a perfect song to make a flash along to. You did a pretty good job representing what the song was saying. Like I said, the song was perfect to create an animation as it painted a pretty good visual of what was happening.

I found it funny in some parts such as the reopening of the mall and the destruction of the mall along with it. There was also a nice bit of humor added when you animated the "whipped" part literally even though that wasn't exactly what it was meant to be.

Overall, good job with making this into a flash. You did a great job picking a story and filling it with great content.

~ Audio ~

I know I've said it a couple of times already, but the song was perfect to create a flash for. You synced up the animation pretty good to go along with the song as well. Perhaps the usage of some quiet background noise would have been nice.

The quality of the song wasn't the best. I don't know if that had anything to do with lowering the quality so it could make a smaller size flash or if it was simply the file type you had.

~ Overall/Summary ~

I think that the best thing you could do to improve the submission is just work on the quality of the graphics and the smoothness of the animation a bit more. The story was perfectly fine, but the audio did need to sound a bit better in my opinion.

Good flash

Lemon Demon has some pretty nice songs, that seem just to be made to create flash animations to. This song is no expection. I like how you animated the song, showing Samuel and Rosella doing all those nasty things.

At first I thought both where moving a bit too slow, but since they are old (and the lyrics even say they where moving slow) and you timed your animations very good to the lyrics it fits pretty well here.

What I liked most was that you never used the same scene twice. Sure, they where standing in front of the mall a few times, and this "newspaper goes down, Samuel and Rosella look at each other" was there more than once. But you always changed a few things here and there, for example the headlines of the newspaper, or how they where trying to blow up the mall.
It's those tiny details that make a good flash stand out from the other good flashes on Newgrounds. :D

I also liked how you hid the caption on/off button when the mouse wasn't hovering over it. But the captions where sometimes hard to read. A small white box where the captions appear in might have been better. At least then the captions could be read more easily.

The song itself was great and funny, too bad the sound quality is a bit low. But everything can be understood just fine, so I guess you lowered the quality a bit to make the flash size a bit smaller.

Cool :D

It's a funny flash movie in general, and I enjoyed watching it.

The graphics are good for flash, and although not the best I've seen (Samuel's chin looks like a backside XD), it definitely beats a lot of flash graphics. The backgrounds were great too, and I noticed that you gave quite a bit of attention to detail in this movie in some parts, which made it a little less boring to look at. The animaion was smooth, although just slightly rough at times, and the walking animation was a bit on the strange side.

You get a few points for originality, since as you said, there are no other music videos using this song on NG. I liked that you added caption option and the movie controls as well, you don't usually see those in flash videos. My only complaint is that in all the flash was a little slow-moving, with Samuel and Rosella taking 10 seconds just to walk a few steps. Still, the music took care of that problem anyway.

The audio, if not a little muffled, was really funny, and even though the quality wasn't great, the captions were perfectly done and made the lyrics understandable. I liked how you synced the flash with the audio so well.

I don't usually enjoy music videos that much, but this is an exception. The well-drawn backgrounds, captions, flash-audio syncing and movie controls make this music video definitely worth watching.

Quite funny

I like this song, it's catchy and in the true essence of LemonDemon, it's got a catchy rhythm and some very funny lyrics. I think that you might have been able to get a better quality recording though, as it sounded a little muffled, as if the sound quality has been reduced by compressing it or something. You've only got a 2.6 Meg file, so you've got plenty of bandwidth left :)

Perhaps you could have done something with Samuel's chin, as it sticks out more than Jay Lenno's or Bruce Forsyth's. A few minor tweaks here and there with other aspects of the animation will really bring it on as well. Perhaps things like drawing a better set of binoculars and having Rosella stand more to Samuel's left when he fires the bazooka - those things have a large backdraft when they fire, so paying attention to details like that certainly help ;)

Finally, I think that something needs to be done about Rosella's facial expression - don't be afraid to do stuff with her - I never see her lips move or the expression she wears change at all. A few tweaks to that will help, plus lip syncing when she sings that one line before they stab the teenager with the umbrella would make the world of difference.

Good job, I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
