pretty good
I have to agree that it was a little pixelated, and with working on it would look better. The music, however, went very well with it. It helped the story immensely.
Game sprites and tilesets were taken from Starmen.net. The map was put together by me personally. Any modifications (however crude) to Jeff's sprite were done by me.
Music is Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts 2.
I actively welcome any and all constructive criticism. That's the only way to get better, and since this is my first movie, I am eager to make improvements.

Mehh..
I don't know man. It was well constructed, I have no gripes about that. It was interesting seeing Earthbound sprites/tiles in a sidescrolling kind of perspective.
But this thing honestly made no sense. It's clearly something very personal and I think in a public format it doesn't translate well. Having something so serious alongside Earthbound pixel art made it seems like a joke almost; I felt like I was waiting for a punchline at the end because Earthbound is such a light-hearted and funny game.
I like your observations! While I certainly agree that the use of Earthbound sprites might suggest a joke, there is the very serious and touching underside to Earthbound which is not readily apparent, including the themes of love, friendship, and finding the Sword of Kings :).
I thank everyone who has written reviews so far. They've made me quite happy! Please keep them coming!
i dont no what to say but
man that was sad but pure from heart. it makes us feel sad but that was also really
good. i just cant say anymore.
Thank you very much!
Wow
I thought that was pretty good.
-PROS-
Great short animation.
Sends chills down your spine.
-CONS-
You could work a little on smoothness and pixelization.
Maybe a replay button, if needed.
It could be a stretch, but make a side-story animation for the Earthbound characters as a series, could turn out pretty well.
Earthbound FTW =]
I'm developing techniques right now to improve the pixellation. If anybody could forward me to some good resources on scaling and rotating sprites without distorting them, I'd be most obliged!
Thank you very much for your comments :)
