This is a breakout like game plaied entirely with the mouse. I made this during school.

If the ball fell over the far left or right then the ship couldn't reach it. No replay value, and the song couldn't entirely make up for how boring it is.

Dilrd responds:

Fine what-ever I get it. This game was worse than the fucking looping animations and everyone wishes I'd go in a corner to fucking shoot myself. But you know what I'm just going to leave this up just to piss you all off. are you happy now?

numerous flaws, but it does work..

This game appeared poorly organized, which caused me to be confused about what I needed to do. As I did not notice the button to begin a game, and the ship was already moving while flaming asteroids were zooming around, I first thought I had to prevent the ship from hitting the asteroids. After this turned out to be too easy, I remembered your description of this as a 'breakout' game. But the ball was hard to see after I began playing; I think I may have lost one before I recognized it. The shape of the ship was misleading, as I assumed the ball couldn't bounce off the rocket's exhaust, which would be gaseous, until I noticed my 'centered' hits were bounding to the right. Lastly I discovered that the 'Mission' button gave me a scenario description, which happened to have blocks from my game superimposed over the text.

My impression is that the interface design came out accidentally from adding features to your code rather than consideration for the player's experience. You should consider either a menu screen or clearly obvious menu mode, to provide necessary information to the player before I get started. Also, it's important to test different ways of operating the program to catch bugs before releasing.

Dilrd responds:

Yeah sorry you didn't like the game. I built the game then tried to add the mission information. I probably should have built the game backwards from the way I did it. (Yeah that makes sense) Anyway sorry I tried.

Done Poorly

This game is played out. Regardless, the game stands pretty much on its own and is playable. Point for that. Here are some problems, the ship cannot reach the left corner and so any green balls that fall there has no protection capability. Second and the biggest problem, you ball is not clearly visible. It is a dark green on a black background with comets flying every once and a while. Bad gameplay. Sub par graphics, the only good thing I can say here is that it had okay physics for the ball collision.

Dilrd responds:

WOW a good review holy crap! Thanks! Oh and I'll work on it.

broken

did you try this out before you posted it?

Dilrd responds:

Yes and I beat it five times and lost 12 times.

this is just annoying

bad choice of music, shitty sfx, and the ball is too small to see.

Dilrd responds:

Thanks :<
