The music was good, even inviting, but the graphics took most of it away

okay premise, nut it needs A LOT of work. better sprites, better motion that doesn't just look like moving the same sprite across the screen, just to name two. Try looking at other sprite artist's work like Alvin-Earthworm to give you an idea of what to shoot for.
