A play button would be nice. I'm not good at programing either, but I know how to make buttons that work. It was a good idea but you need other colors. Try havining it so every click is another color and the color pops up randomly or changes shades or something.

For people like me who simply click the play game button you should have text that says to click the screen to get the waves to work. I realy like the effect. I also agree that music would make this game somewhat more interesting. maybe a reflection of someone with a hand instead of the pointer. just throwing ideas out there.

pretty neat

not too special but still neat in a simple way. maybe try throwing in some more colours than just blue. Also some sound effects wouldn't have hurt, but like you said, you're still just learning. so keep toying around with it and see what you can come up with.
