Hello world, I'm back with yet another little short toon. This one is based on audio I borrowed (ie. outright stole) from Navigatrs 'Gaming in the Clinton years' videos.

If you don't know what 'Gaming in the Clinton years' is, it's a set of review and strategy clips for video games that were made during the Clinton administration. They're hosted by a guy who I'm pretty sure doesn't know a thing about video games or hosting a video game review show. The videos themselves can get ridiculous even when they're in context, so I thought I'd take a collection of the best non-sequiters out of context and see if I can come up with a coherent review for a single game. This is the result.

So have a watch. Mind the crap artstyle, those who know my previous work know I'm capable of doing better.

Funny

Donkey Kong in Chrono Trigger. That's pretty funny.

Uptown-SlimJim responds:

I should have challenged viewers to name all the games reviewed in that clip. Some are easier to pick-out than others.

Wow

The animation wasn't the greatest, but it made me laugh.

Uptown-SlimJim responds:

I'm the first to admit that I'm not an artist and that I'm cutting corners with the Slim Bits series. I'm just glad it made you laugh.

haha nice

yeah this is cool
keep it up

Uptown-SlimJim responds:

Thanks. Have a good one.

Pretty funny ^^

I thought this was actually quite funny to be honest. I actually noticed some of the games (Mickey, Yoshi's Island), but the graphics, while not that important in certain things (I think) were not that great. I mean, better than I could do, but noticeably not good. I think it kind of added to the humor, but it also makes it a little ackward to look at. The sound was decent, but it would have been better if you could have gotten the background music out of certain clips. I haven't looked at any of your other cartoons yet, but I plan to. Keep up the good work ^^

Uptown-SlimJim responds:

Thanks. The Slim Bits series is a big departure from what I've normally done. I'm more of a dialogue/story kind of guy, so my typical art style is clearner and more detailed than it is here. What I do with this series is allow myself to cut corners and go wild because they're meant to be shorts rather than full-fledged shows. That's my excuse for the crummy art.

Also there wasn't much I could have done with the audio. It was just a straight recording off my soundcard. Can't be helped.

Flawless

This film made my day and will make many dad's happy to come in the future, FANTASTIC!!!!!!! GAME OF THE DECADE!!!!!

Uptown-SlimJim responds:

That review was very responsive and monkey-feeling
