Flash-based Feature Film!

Author Comments

Guys,

We are close to finishing what is probably the first ever flash-based feature film -- as you can guess, it is meant to be "played" on computers only. The film is called Latent Lava (www.LatentLava.com), and it has been made in a way that the audience gets to play a role in it. And this role goes way beyond answering simplistic questions about who would they like to see die or live and stuff like that... here, they actually look for clues, operate weapons controlled through no animation has been shot with only real life actors and surroundings, so the audience's "co-stars" are all real people.

Take a look at this scene where the other actors in the story are installing the remote guns to be controlled by the audience. Here is a description of the scene:

"Marcus is stuck all alone in a terrorist hideout -- Ripu has had to leave the location due to an expected development. The only help Marcus can get is from Angela outside, and from the remote guns controlled by none other than... you! See Marcus and Angela install remote guns for you before all of you get ready for the fight of your life."

Tell us what you think of this scene. Do you like the remote guns to be controlled by the audience? Do you think the audience will enjoy the experience of shooting at real life people as opposed to animated characters...

Hope you like it.

Thanks.

Good action, look like reality

Best the action and moving to better interactivity.

Prequel

This is like a prequel taste/setup of what's to come and I'm interested to see how it all goes and how much interaction the user will have. This did an interesting job of hyping things up, so you can't let us down now. I can only hope there's more length to it next time as this seemed pretty short. Also nice job on putting a summary of what was going on in the Author Comments or we'd really be lost.

...ok, what?

It looks like some cheezy sci fi show, and the pitch doesn't really hype me up at all. "Guns controlled by YOU." Yeah, great, we need that in all caps.

I'm not saying this is a terrible idea, it just doesn't strike me as engaging...
