Annoying

I think the idea was good, but I found it annoying to play to be honest. The green block kept changing it´s direction all the time and when I finally got my mouse on it the red block was very close so I had to move it off and go chasing the green one again. This all kinda pissed me off. I know the game wouldn´t be very challenging if the blocks kept going in straight lines, but you could make them move a bit slower and make them have some moving-pattern that they´ll follow for a while. Not the complete randomness it was now.

Also I missed the replay button and right click => rewind didn´t take me to the beginning either. Please add some kinda button that starts the game over again, it´s not that hard to make.

Overall 4 out of 10, 2 out of 5. I didn´t like it much. I suggest you try to develop the game a bit more. Perhaps add a few power-ups or something (+ points? slower blocks? no effects from red block?). Also work on a better lay-out.

Well duh the green block kept changing directions, thats the point! It's supposed to be hard, I'm not going to make it too easy, it's supposed to be a challenge, not something that everyone will be amazing at. And about the replay button, I tried adding one but the actionscript I had for it clashed with the actionscript of the timer, so it didn't work. I ended up taking it out.

flying boxessss!

hmm, it was alright. made good for play once, maybe even twice, but not after that. would be cool if there was some sort of variation, instead of it doing the same path each time. i know making them go random would be a lot more coding to do, but maybe you could make like, 3 different motion paths or something. perhaps also some sort of way to change the number of red blocks, too? the graphics were... well, filterwhore-esque. that BLOCKS text made me since in pain, haha. try to use less filters, and get it to look cool still :3 the music was alright, but quite cool that it came from the audio portal :) for dat one der review club ;)

^^Good Points^^
This was a pretty interesting game, I think. It was quite challenging, as all of the movement was really random and erratic, which made avoiding pretty hard. I liked the blurry graphics too.

^^Needs Improving^^
Almost no replay value though. You should at the very least add a highscore list to this, so people can compete and want to play more. You could also consider some different types of game play or something.

~REVIEW~

It was a pretty good first flash, very addictive. The screen with the instructions in my opinion is better than having to click a button and then having to go back, basicly more convenient. I usually don't like gradients but it looked really good at the end showing the final score. V2 definitely needs a replay button and more gameplay so people will want to come back and play it again.

Yay, thanks for the review!

About the lack of replay button, I tried putting one in but the actionscript of the replay button clashed with the actionscript of the timer, and if you tried playing it again it would send you straight back to the ending screen. In V2 I will try to learn more actionscript to fix that. About the lack of gameplay, I will add more levels, power ups, power downs, etc.

Interesting game

This game looks quite simple and very addictive. I'm impressed.

What I think you could use is a level system - maybe adding more green and red blocks, to make it more entertaining and perhaps some pop up powerups, allowing you to slow down the red block or some dummies which speed the green one up, for example.

Are you planning on releasing a second version of this game (It's a little short for my liking) Possibly also give us a music on / off button, combined with a few sound effects (Good for scoring points, bad for losing them etc.)

Koeberto190 responds:

I was wondering if you were going to review this, and thanks for the review.

I was going to do a V2 but I've been busy making other flashes, I'll get around to it eventually. I really like the idea of pop up power ups, and some fake ones, so I'll try and add that in. I know its short and it didn't have much, but I didn't know that much actionscript at the time, it will be longer and have more levels when V2 comes around.
