Babeball Teaser

=== FLASH 8 REQUIRED ===

My first attempt at an API game, inspired from Denvish's pure code games. Everything is drawn and controlled in Actionscript, except the music.

Play with the arrow keys and the space bar.
In Time Attack mode, you run until the time runs out.
In Cat Mode, you have 9 lives to finish the track.

Features:
- Two game modes.
- "Mode 7" pseudo-3D engine.
- API graphics (no library items).
- 1950 lines of code
- 6 AS classes.
- 14 KB of Actionscript, 132 Kb of music.

This game was inspired by U-Foot's "Babal" on the HP48 calculator.

There is only 1 track at the moment, but I plan on making a larger game if this teaser does well. Reviews are greatly appreciated!

I have the need for speed!

first I saw one like this...

Pretty cool game.

It was fun for a while,hauling ass and jumping but for some reason it had no sound and i know it's not my speakers cause i just checked them after i played this,meh oh well i still had fun with this. =)

victim of the situation

im very glad you released this on your own. on behalf of spammy and myself, i apologize that the API collab died out, but you had the best piece, honestly, and im glad you ended up doing something with it. it turned out magnificently...

Newsdee responds:

Thanks; no need to apologize for the collab, after all it died because many people just lost interest. At least, I'm glad I was able to inspire others to make something as well (other than glad to get this game out of it :D). Now I just need to come up with good ideas to use this engine in a bigger game...

Finaly =P

lol finaly u submited the game, but y is it a teaser?

and be sure to start ur collab game ; )

Newsdee responds:

It's a teaser because I plan to use this engine in a larger game... once I add a few more things to the gameplay though. ;-)

Cool idea

I like the orginality. The game was pretty cool. Good job overall.

Newsdee responds:

Thanks for the support!
